MegaNexus has led rehabilitation ICT for Justice, Healthcare and Employability for over a decade. Our platform provides educational and through-the-gate services to every prison in England & Wales, as well as third-sector charities and large and small private sector organizations.

We are looking for someone to take the lead on complex projects working in an innovative, dynamic and fast-growing organisation.

Although the candidate has an internal focus, you must also have direct client conversations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of projects as well as championing the cause of project mangment and providing a ‘centre of excellence service’ to projects running across the rest of the business.

The manager will be working with a group of highly skilled and passionate software developers to deliver bespoke, cutting-edge solutions for our customers. You will have a direct line into Operations and work closely with the Head of Products. You will ensure the smooth development and implementation of IT solutions, and you will hold responsibility for, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and implementation of projects
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Define tasks and resource requirements
  • Develop full-scale plans
  • Manage resource allocation
  • Plan and schedule timelines
  • Track deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Provide direction and support to the team
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of projects to all stakeholders
  • Management of risks from start-up throughout the lifecyle of projects, providing ongoing support and maintaining a suitable RAID log
  • Present reports defining progress, problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage changes and interventions to achieve outputs.

The successful candidate

ESSENTIAL

  • Manager level within Software Development
  • Software development background
  • Experience of setting up and delivering IT projects across multiple locations within a complex environment
  • Demonstrable experience of driving key delivery milestones, ensuring they are met within aggressive budgetary and timescale contstraints
  • Proven ability to create and manage project plans
  • Proven ability to manage risks from start-up throughout the lifecycle of projects, providing
  • A good degree from a recognised university or equivalent experience
  • Recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 or PMP)
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise accordingly
  • Ability to manage and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills, stakeholder management and client facing experience
